About

Daniel J. Lay

Equipped with a degree in journalism and six years of exhibit design, I set out to create a website that educates and entertains. The driving idea behind Gutter Curator is to present culture and art in an easy-to-understand way.

I emerged in the Oklahoma City art and museum scene. Many of my ideas about the role that art should play in our lives were guided by Dane Pollei, director of Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art; Henry Moy, director of Museum of the Red River; Glenn Nerwin, Owner of Nerwin Fine Art Services; and G. Patrick Riley, artist and art educator. I have frequent discussions with my colleague, Zachary Qualls about the future of museums. Zachary is a student of the brilliant museum management program at University of Tulsa.
